…If your struggling like I was, give Real Recovery a shot cause it can help change your life like it changed mine.” – Jamie Bilsky
If you’re battling addiction in South Florida, Real Recovery Solutions near South Pasadena is here to help you take control. Our St. Petersburg programs deliver a structured and supportive path to recovery that puts you in charge of your progress. We don’t just guide you through treatment—we equip you with the tools, skills, and confidence you need to thrive in the real world.
Substance addiction is sweeping across the United States, and it has been particularly prevalent in younger generations. This is hard for families in South Pasadena who just want their loved ones to thrive. In Florida alone, 7.63% of 12- to 17-year-olds report using illicit substances in the last month. The misuse of substances at such a young age can have lasting effects on the brain, liver, and heart, and can be dangerous if not promptly addressed.
At Real Recovery’s St. Petersburg location, we provide our clients with community and accountability. We show them how to develop the tools that they need for lasting stability throughout their lives, and support their personal needs through treatment plans built specifically for them.
As the Clinical Director at Real Recovery Solutions, Carlos Escobar leverages over 15 years of experience in Substance Use Disorder Treatment, focusing on therapies like CBT and REBT to foster client self-understanding and acceptance. His commitment to innovative, personalized care aims to profoundly improve the lives of those battling addiction and related mental health challenges.

At Real Recovery, we consider ourselves a family. Our staff is hand-picked based on their personal experiences and successes with similar structure-oriented programs. Sometimes we have staff members that have graduated from our program and are looking to grow and mentor peers within the community they have learned from.
We all have unique skill sets that we utilize in a variety of ways whether it be home operations, resident relations, recovery community outreach, and more. We are all available to answer questions or provide resources to residents, families, and friends of people looking for recovery.

Quitting a substance abruptly can trigger intense and sometimes dangerous withdrawal symptoms, including hallucinations, dehydration, and seizures. Attempting to manage these symptoms alone is not safe. Medical detox provides 24/7 monitoring and support from trained medical staff, offering both medical and psychological intervention to ensure the process is as safe and comfortable as possible.
Medical detox can often be the first step in treating alcohol use disorder (AUD) and substance use disorder (SUD), though not every individual requires it. Substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, fentanyl, and heroin can create particularly severe withdrawal due to their effects on brain neurotransmitters.
Upon arrival at Real Recovery, each client receives a thorough physical and psychological evaluation to assess their current state and determine whether a medical detox is the appropriate first step in their recovery journey.
Many men face difficulties reintegrating into daily life after treatment. Real Recovery’s St. Petersburg sober living program for men offers the community, structure, and support that are crucial for a successful transition. Through a structured three-phase approach, clients progress through a 12-step program while receiving 24/7 support from licensed therapists and continuous accountability from peers in the program.
Residents enjoy a range of amenities designed to make recovery comfortable and engaging, including spacious, newly renovated living areas, high-speed internet, free access to gyms and pools, outdoor grilling spaces, modern appliances, and smart TVs in every living space. Our sober living program is conveniently located close to local job opportunities and nearby Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and 12-step meetings, which further support daily life and recovery.
While sober living residents have flexibility in their schedule, they are expected to adhere to program rules: attending 12-step meetings, maintaining steady employment, participating in peer support activities, and completing daily responsibilities. Clients are encouraged to stay as long as needed to fully complete their 12-step program and build a strong foundation for long-term recovery.
Heroin often begins as a tool for managing pain but can quickly result in physical dependence, tolerance, and a diminished sense of joy in daily life. Mental health challenges may also be present, making the road to recovery feel even more daunting. At Real Recovery, heroin addiction treatment is personalized for each client. Most programs start with a medically monitored detox to safely manage withdrawal. This is followed by a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses the origins of the addiction, incorporating individual and group therapy to build structure, connection, and accountability.
As a potent opioid, fentanyl can quickly overwhelm both mental and physical health. Individuals may experience difficulty making decisions and find themselves trapped in constant anxiety or irritability. At Real Recovery, fentanyl addiction treatment starts with a comprehensive evaluation to fully understand the client’s unique needs and history. The program then combines individual, family, and group therapy, integrating evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy with holistic practices like yoga, art, and music therapy to support recovery from all angles.
Cocaine addiction can begin as a way to get through the day, enhance confidence, or maintain energy. With continued use, however, the urge to intake cocaine can become more persistent, making it increasingly difficult to create space from the substance.
Treatment for cocaine addiction starts with understanding and addressing the underlying factors that contribute to cocaine addiction. This may include co-occurring mental health conditions as well as environmental influences. From there, an individualized treatment plan is developed, often integrating a 12-step approach with individual and group therapies to support long-term recovery.
Meth addiction often starts as a way to increase energy and power through the day, seemingly under control at first. Over time, however, dependence can develop, leading to isolation, loss of self-worth, and strained relationships. Those living with meth addiction may also face intense cravings, memory and focus difficulties, and a growing sense of disconnection from loved ones.
Each meth addiction treatment program combines the 12-step approach with evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and addresses underlying factors, including environmental influences and mental health challenges, to support lasting recovery.
Prescription drug addiction occurs when medications are used outside of their prescribed purpose. Frequently misused drugs include opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants. Stimulants like Adderall and Ritalin are commonly prescribed for ADHD and can help improve concentration and energy levels. However, misuse, especially among those without ADHD, can lead to excessive stimulation, increased tolerance, and eventual dependence on the drug for focus and performance.
Treatment for prescription drug addiction at Real Recovery Solutions begins with a detailed assessment and may include medical detox if appropriate. Our team evaluates both physical and mental health to uncover any co-occurring conditions contributing to substance use. Clients then receive personalized care through a full continuum of services, including individual counseling, group therapy, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and structured aftercare support.
Medications like Xanax, Klonopin, and Valium—known as benzodiazepines—are commonly prescribed for anxiety, panic disorders, and sleep difficulties. Although helpful initially, prolonged use can result in tolerance, dependence, and addiction.
For those living with long-term benzodiazepine addiction, Real Recovery begins benzodiazepine addiction treatment with a 24/7 medically monitored detox. This ensures that withdrawal symptoms are safely managed. After detox, each client follows a customized program that provides comprehensive care and continued aftercare support to help maintain lasting recovery.
Alcohol use disorder (AUD) occurs when someone is unable to stop the compulsive consumption of alcohol, resulting in both physical and psychological dependence. Since every person’s journey with AUD is different, successful treatment depends on finding the right individualized approach.
Real Recovery starts alcohol addiction treatment with a medically monitored detox, supported by experienced care and therapy staff. After detox, clients enter a structured sober living program that minimizes exposure to triggers and addresses the root causes of their addiction, providing a solid foundation for recovery.
