At Real Recovery, we treat your mind, body, and spirit with dedication and accountability. We know that dual diagnosis is fundamental when treating your addiction. If your underlying mental health conditions are not treated simultaneously with your substance use disorder (SUD ) or alcohol use disorder (AUD), you may experience recurring symptoms, frequent triggers, and a possible return to use. That is why our treatment plans include a combination of traditional therapies along with holistic approaches to make sure your whole person is being taken care of, not just your addiction.
Most of the time, substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder (AUD) are not isolated concerns. SAMHSA reported that in 2024, 21.2 million adults with a mental illness also had a SUD. This is called a co-occurring condition, or a dual diagnosis. Adults who have a dual diagnosis are more likely to partake in substance use than adults who do not have a mental illness. Clients who have a history of mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, may face a higher chance of also developing a SUD or AUD. However, for clients who do not have preexisting mental health concerns, their AUD or SUD may have contributed to one.
Because mental health disorders and SUD’s both affect the brain, dual-diagnosis treatment is critical for lasting recovery. If only addiction is cared for during treatment, the mental health challenges that you are experiencing may lead to a return to use.
We address triggers associated with co-occurring conditions by providing a structured, low-stress environment. We offer treatment through therapy techniques, holistic approaches, and 12-step programs, while keeping you accountable for your own recovery.
This is what we mean when we say we treat the mind, body, and spirit. We don’t just treat the addiction; we treat everything that may have led to it, and everything that has happened since.

Both mental health conditions and SUD have their own symptoms, and these symptoms must be handled simultaneously during treatment. If you are living with both a substance use disorder and a co-occurring mental health condition, both inpatient and outpatient care are extremely beneficial for your sustainable recovery.
Inpatient and outpatient treatments require a major commitment to change. Both treatment options are effective, as long as you’re putting in the work.
During inpatient treatment, you receive personalized care in a live-in environment that lessens triggers and decreases stress so recovery can be your main focus

Outpatient treatment gives you the flexibility to continue your daily life while attending treatment sessions on your own schedule.

Early sobriety can be challenging when transitioning from treatment to everyday life. Real Recovery makes this transition easier with our sober living programs.
Sober living is beneficial for anyone, regardless of their stage of recovery. Sober living can serve as a bridge for clients who have graduated from inpatient treatment or were unable to attend it. Sober living continues to address co-occurring conditions through 12-step programs, personalized treatment, and accountability.
We are deeply committed to your success— that’s what’s different. Sober living is more than abstaining from substances; it’s about sustainable success. We provide personalized recovery plans, staff support, and therapeutic resources during your stay, helping you develop new coping strategies, develop community connections, and build skills that prevent a return to use. Our sober living programs are stable, structured, and the largest in Florida.
Real Recovery uses evidence-based therapies proven to understand the root of a client’s co-occurring conditions.
We know how effective recovery can be when clients are given structure and held accountable for their addiction, which is why all programs at Real Recovery follow the principles of the 12-step program.
The 12-step program is a proven and effective way of promoting personal accountability, peer support, and spiritual growth. All clients need to be open, honest, and willing to follow these steps daily to build a strong foundation for recovery.

Dual-diagnosis treatment is right for anyone who has co-occurring mental health challenges along with their SUD or AUD. Whether your mental health concern started before your addiction, or it is a recent development, it won’t be put on the back burner at Real Recovery. Our focus is you: Your mind, your body, and your spirit. We treat the whole person, and we don’t leave anything behind.
No one’s success happens overnight. Recovery is a path you’re always walking, and at Real Recovery, we’re with you until the end. We want you to succeed, and we’re going to make sure you get there, even if there are a few bumps along the way.
Support starts the moment you walk through our doors, regardless of whether your path starts in inpatient, outpatient, detox, or sober living. At the start of treatment, our physicians and psychiatrists evaluate your physical and mental state to discover if you have an underlying mental health condition. If a mental health condition is found, you will be started on a dual-diagnosis program designed to treat all aspects of your SUD or AUD and your mental health challenges.
At any point in your treatment journey, you may find that sober living is the right path for you. Our sober living facilities are the largest in Florida and have produced hundreds of successful alumni, many of whom remain sober to this day.
What makes Real Recovery unique is how committed we are to your success. During your stay at a sober living facility, we work with you to continue your success after you leave. We provide case management to help you get a driver’s license, SNAP, and free education in the state, and we also help you with job searching and resume building.
