…If your struggling like I was, give Real Recovery a shot cause it can help change your life like it changed mine.” – Jamie Bilsky
For individuals living with addiction in Kenneth City, Florida, Real Recovery Solutions in St. Petersburg offers a structured and supportive path to recovery centered on accountability. We equip our clients with the tools and skills necessary for lasting, real-world recovery—ensuring progress continues well beyond the end of treatment.
According to a study done by the Centers for Disease Control, 16% of adults in Florida binge drink. Binge drinking can lead directly to addiction, as drinking heavy amounts of alcohol in excess can reduce physical tolerance to the substance. Alcohol addiction can cause short-term and long-term effects on your health, such as alcohol poisoning, overdose, and cancer. Directly addressing alcohol addiction can help prevent physical and psychological harm and provide the support needed to achieve sustainable recovery.
Real Recovery provides those living with alcohol use disorder (AUD) and substance use disorder (SUD) with the resources and community that they need to start their journey to lasting recovery. During their time at our facility, we will ensure our clients have the tools they need to take accountability and build a foundation of recovery for the rest of their lives.
As the Clinical Director at Real Recovery Solutions, Carlos Escobar leverages over 15 years of experience in Substance Use Disorder Treatment, focusing on therapies like CBT and REBT to foster client self-understanding and acceptance. His commitment to innovative, personalized care aims to profoundly improve the lives of those battling addiction and related mental health challenges.

Real Recovery Solutions provides a complete continuum of care, customized to support every client’s recovery journey. Our approach focuses on healing the mind, body, and spirit through personalized treatment plans that include individual therapy with trauma-informed therapists, group therapy, and 12-step–based programming.
We offer a variety of care options to match each client’s needs, ranging from medical detox to outpatient services. Many individuals continue their progress in our sober living program, which offers a structured and accountable environment for men.
Below are examples of what treatment looks like at Real Recovery:
Suddenly stopping the use of certain substances can lead to severe and potentially dangerous withdrawal symptoms, such as hallucinations, dehydration, and seizures. Managing these symptoms alone can be risky, which is why medical detox is critical. Medical detox provides round-the-clock supervision from skilled staff who monitor the process and provide both medical and psychological support to make withdrawal safer and more manageable.
While medical detox is often the first stage in treating alcohol use disorder (AUD) and substance use disorder (SUD), it is not required for every client. Substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, fentanyl, and heroin can cause particularly harsh withdrawal symptoms due to their impact on brain chemistry.
When clients arrive at Real Recovery, they undergo a comprehensive physical and psychological assessment to determine their stage of recovery and whether detox is the safest and most effective starting point.
Returning to everyday life after treatment can be challenging; Real Recovery’s St. Petersburg sober living program is designed to provide men with the structure, support, and community needed to sustain recovery. The program follows a three-phase process that helps clients complete a 12-step program, with 24-hour access to licensed therapists and continuous peer accountability to prevent relapse.
Sober living in St. Petersburg includes a variety of amenities and activities to make the transition smoother and more comfortable. Residents enjoy newly renovated living spaces, large leather couches, smart TVs, high-speed internet, free gym and pool access, modern appliances, and outdoor grilling areas. Local job opportunities and easy access to Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and 12-step meetings make daily life manageable while supporting recovery.
Residents are free to come and go, but must follow program rules, including attending a set number of 12-step meetings, maintaining employment, participating in peer support, and completing daily chores. There is no fixed time limit for staying in the program; clients are encouraged to remain until they have completed their 12-step program and are ready to transition safely and confidently back into independent living.
For many individuals, heroin use starts as a way to manage pain. Over time, however, it can lead to strong physical dependence, growing tolerance, and a loss of enjoyment in everyday life. Heroin addiction is often compounded by underlying mental health challenges, which can make recovery feel overwhelming.Heroin addiction treatment at Real Recovery is tailored to each person’s needs. It typically begins with a medically supervised detox, monitored 24/7 by our care team. From there, clients engage in individualized treatment that addresses the root causes of their addiction, using both individual and group therapies to foster structure, community, and accountability.
Fentanyl is an extremely powerful opioid that can disrupt both mind and body almost immediately. Its effects often include impaired decision-making, chronic irritability, and heightened anxiety.Fentanyl addiction treatment begins with a complete assessment to identify the client’s specific needs and history. From there, recovery is guided through a combination of individual, family, and group therapy, using evidence-based strategies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as holistic options including yoga, music therapy, and art therapy, to foster comprehensive healing.
Cocaine use may begin as a way to keep up with daily demands, boost confidence, or maintain energy. Over time, repeated use can make the urge to continue harder to ignore, and many individuals find it increasingly difficult to separate themselves from the substance.
Treatment for cocaine addiction begins with identifying and addressing the underlying causes of the addiction. This can include co-occurring mental health conditions as well as environmental influences. With these factors in mind, an individualized treatment plan is developed that combines a 12-step approach with individual and group therapies to support lasting recovery.
Meth use can begin as a way to boost energy and keep up with daily demands, often feeling manageable at first. Over time, however, dependence can take hold, leading to isolation, a diminished sense of self-worth, and strained relationships. Those struggling with meth addiction may also experience intense cravings, trouble with memory and focus, and a growing disconnect from the people around them.
At Real Recovery, our trained medical team develops personalized treatment for meth addiction. This approach combines the 12-step program with evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and addresses underlying factors that led to addiction, such as mental health conditions and environmental influences, providing comprehensive care to support lasting recovery.
Prescription drug addiction is defined by the misuse of medications beyond their intended use. This often includes opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin are typically prescribed for ADHD and are intended to improve focus and energy. When misused, particularly by those without ADHD, they can create unnecessary stimulation, leading to increased tolerance and dependence over time.
During a client’s prescription drug addiction treatment, care begins with a thorough assessment and, if needed, a medically supervised detox. We evaluate each client’s physical and mental health to determine if underlying conditions are contributing to substance use. From there, clients participate in a comprehensive treatment program that includes individual therapy, group counseling, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and ongoing aftercare planning and support.
Benzodiazepines, such as Xanax, Klonopin, and Valium, are often prescribed for anxiety, panic disorders, and insomnia. Over time, however, continued use can lead to tolerance, dependence, and eventually addiction.
At Real Recovery, benzodiazepine addiction treatment starts with a medically supervised detox, where our 24/7 medical team carefully manages withdrawal symptoms. After detox, clients engage in an individualized program tailored to their needs, followed by structured aftercare to support sustainable, long-term recovery.
Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is characterized by an inability to control alcohol consumption, leading to both physical and psychological dependence. Each person’s experience with AUD is unique, and the most effective treatment is one that is tailored to the individual.
At Real Recovery, treatment for alcohol addiction begins with a medically supervised alcohol detox, guided by a team of care and therapeutic professionals. Following detox, clients participate in a sober living program designed to address their specific recovery needs, reduce exposure to triggers, and explore the underlying factors contributing to their alcohol addiction

I have struggled for many years with a debilitating case of untreated alcoholism , until I made the life changing decision to come to Real Recovery St.Pete. With the support of staff, and residents alike, I am still sober sober 13 months later. I can not say enough good things about this place! Thank you Real Recovery!
I have been to other Sober Living houses and Real Recovery is the best. They drug test to keep people honest. They make sure clients are responsible and clean their house. The House Managers are awesome. If you are serious about recovery this is a great place to live. Several meetings on site.
Real Recovery is the best choice in all regards. Their facilities are amazing, the amount of work and money the owner puts into his properties is unmatched. The programs they have are also the best. House managers are also super involved, go to the same meetings and know what is going on with the clients.
I recently moved into Real Recovery and I have been very impressed! I came from a sober living situation in St. Pete but moved back home to Bradenton. If you are looking for a clean, sober living environment - this is it! Mark is a very open and relatable person to talk to. The men here are open, eager to help, and make you feel welcome.
I been in Real Recovery of Tampa for a month now and it was by far the best decision I ever made after completing 30 days of inpatient rehab at Turning Point.
