…If your struggling like I was, give Real Recovery a shot cause it can help change your life like it changed mine.” – Jamie Bilsky
For individuals living with addiction in Harbor Bluffs, Florida, Real Recovery Solutions in St. Petersburg offers a structured and supportive path to recovery centered on accountability. We focus on giving clients practical tools for real-world sobriety, not just short-term progress that ends after treatment.
Harbor Bluffs is the perfect escape. A nice slice of sunshine away from the bustle of Largo. With your family and friends only an arm’s length away, it can seem like there’s no problem in sight.
But even a close community like Harbor Bluffs can have neighbors who need a hand. In 2021, there were a reported 6,997 calls to emergency services for overdoses in Pinellas County. That’s not distant—it’s right here, in communities just like this one. When addiction becomes prevalent, connection matters. That’s what Real Recovery brings to the community. Not surface-level solutions, but a place where people show up, do the work, and don’t have to do it alone.
As the Clinical Director at Real Recovery Solutions, Carlos Escobar leverages over 15 years of experience in Substance Use Disorder Treatment, focusing on therapies like CBT and REBT to foster client self-understanding and acceptance. His commitment to innovative, personalized care aims to profoundly improve the lives of those battling addiction and related mental health challenges.

At Real Recovery, we consider ourselves a family. Our staff is hand-picked based on their personal experiences and successes with similar structure-oriented programs. Sometimes we have staff members that have graduated from our program and are looking to grow and mentor peers within the community they have learned from.
We all have unique skill sets that we utilize in a variety of ways whether it be home operations, resident relations, recovery community outreach, and more. We are all available to answer questions or provide resources to residents, families, and friends of people looking for recovery.

At Real Recovery Solutions, we offer a full continuum of care designed to support the mind, body, and spirit. Each treatment plan is personalized, combining individual therapy with trauma-informed clinicians, group therapy with a supportive peer community, and programs grounded in the 12-step model.
We provide a range of services to meet varying levels of care, from medical detox to outpatient treatment. Many clients also choose to continue their recovery in our sober living program, which is designed for men seeking structure, accountability, and a supportive environment.
Below are examples of what treatment can look like at Real Recovery:
Stopping a substance suddenly can lead to intense and sometimes dangerous withdrawal symptoms. These may include hallucinations, dehydration, and seizures, and are often difficult to manage alone. Medical detox provides a safer alternative, offering 24/7 monitoring and support from trained professionals who can intervene as needed to ease both physical and psychological discomfort throughout the process.
Medical detox is often the first step in treating alcohol use disorder (AUD) and substance use disorder (SUD), though not everyone requires it. Certain substances—such as alcohol, benzodiazepines, fentanyl, and heroin—affect the brain in ways that can lead to more severe withdrawal symptoms, making supervised care especially important.
When clients arrive at Real Recovery, they begin with a comprehensive physical and psychological evaluation. This assessment helps determine their current needs and whether medical detox is the most appropriate starting point for their recovery.
For many people, heroin addiction starts as a way to manage pain. Over time, it can quickly develop into a powerful physical dependence, with rising tolerance and a gradual loss of enjoyment in everyday life. Those living with heroin addiction often face underlying mental health challenges as well, which can make recovery feel farther away than it actually is.
Treatment for heroin addiction is not one-size-fits-all. It often begins with a medically supervised detox, supported around the clock by clinical staff. From there, care shifts toward understanding the root causes of each person’s addiction, using both individual and group therapy to create structure, foster connection, and build accountability.
Cocaine addiction often begins as a way to stay energized, push through the day, or feel more confident. Over time, repeated use can make cravings harder to ignore, and many living with cocaine addiction find it increasingly difficult to step away from the substance.
Treatment for cocaine addiction at Real Recovery focuses first on understanding the underlying causes of use. This may include identifying mental health challenges and environmental influences. From there, a personalized recovery plan is created, often combining a 12-step approach with individual and group therapy to support sustainable recovery.
Meth addiction can begin as a way to boost energy and keep up with daily demands, often seeming manageable at first. Over time, though, that sense of control can give way to dependence, bringing deep isolation and a diminished sense of self-worth. People living with meth addiction may experience intense cravings, difficulty with memory and focus, and growing distance in relationships that once felt close.
At Real Recovery, our medical team develops individualized treatment plans for meth addiction. Our sober living program combines a 12-step approach with evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Care is designed to address the underlying factors that may contribute to addiction, such as mental health challenges and environmental influences, while supporting long-term recovery.
Prescription drug addiction involves using medications in ways that differ from their intended purpose. Commonly misused prescriptions include opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants. Stimulants, often prescribed to treat ADHD, such as Adderall or Ritalin, are typically given to improve focus and energy. However, they can also be misused, especially by those without ADHD, leading to heightened energy levels that aren’t medically necessary. Over time, this misuse can result in dependence, along with a growing tolerance that reduces the drug’s original effects.
At Real Recovery, treatment for prescription drug addiction begins with a comprehensive assessment and, when necessary, a medically supervised detox. We conduct thorough physical and psychological evaluations to identify any underlying mental health concerns. From there, clients move through a full continuum of care that may include individual and group counseling, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and ongoing aftercare planning and support to help maintain long-term recovery.
Benzodiazepines—such as Xanax, Klonopin, and Valium—are commonly prescribed to treat anxiety, panic disorders, and insomnia. While they can be effective initially, prolonged use can lead to increased tolerance. Over time, this can result in dependence and, in some cases, addiction.
Benzodiazepine addiction treatment at Real Recovery often begins with a medically supervised detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, so having a clinical team available around the clock helps ensure safety and stability. Following detox, care continues with a personalized treatment plan that addresses immediate needs while building a foundation for long-term recovery through ongoing support and aftercare.
AUD typically means the inability to stop drinking despite its impact, often leading to both physical and psychological dependence. Each person’s experience with AUD is different, which makes individualized care an essential part of effective treatment.
At Real Recovery, alcohol addiction treatment typically begins with a medically supervised detox, guided by a team of clinical and therapeutic professionals. From there, clients transition into a sober living program tailored to their specific needs. This structured environment helps reduce exposure to triggers while addressing the underlying factors contributing to alcohol use, supporting a more stable and lasting recovery.
No one should have to walk their recovery journey alone. Addiction treatment is an important part of the path forward, but ongoing community support and resources can make a meaningful difference at every stage. These services can help individuals who are just beginning treatment, as well as those who have already completed a program and are working to maintain long-term stability.

I have been to other Sober Living houses and Real Recovery is the best. They drug test to keep people honest. They make sure clients are responsible and clean their house. The House Managers are awesome. If you are serious about recovery this is a great place to live. Several meetings on site.
Real Recovery is the best choice in all regards. Their facilities are amazing, the amount of work and money the owner puts into his properties is unmatched. The programs they have are also the best. House managers are also super involved, go to the same meetings and know what is going on with the clients.
